Our aim is to ensure that all of our tenants live in well maintained and comfortable homes, and every year we invest in a variety of planned maintenance projects.
We are committed to providing our tenants with the best possible living environment. Following the Stock Condition Survey which was completed in January 2018, we are currently (January 2020) working on our plans for our planned maintenance in the next few years.
Will I be notified?
When carrying out maintenance work or repairs we will notify tenants in advance. If we plan to carry out any work to your home, you will receive letters from us beforehand, informing you of the planned work and when this will be undertaken.
The work we carry out
In addition to our day-to-day repair service, we make regular investments in a variety of large-scale maintenance projects, such as painterwork, electrical upgrades, window replacements, bathroom and kitchen replacements and boiler replacements.
We also carry out regular maintenance such as the repair of gutters and the painting of doors and exterior paintwork.
In the autumn of 2018, we completed a programme of fire stopping works to our common stairs.
In November 2019, we started a programme to upgrade 75 bathrooms.
At the completion of the bathroom contract, all Co-op properties will have a shower installed in their bathrooms.
In the autumn of 2019, we completed 150 Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs) on tenant properties to bring our inspections fully up to date.
In the autumn of 2019, we resurfaced the car park at Niddrie House Drive
In March 2020, we will commence a programme to upgrade the smoke, heat and CO2 detectors in all Co-op homes.
This programme will involve the use of a modern radio based system to minimise disruption and intrusive works for our tenants.
In spring 2020, we expect to start a programme to upgrade the front doors of tenants living in our stairs. This programme will involve the installation of high quality FD60 fire doors.
