Our aim is to ensure that all of our tenants live in well maintained and comfortable homes, and every year we invest in a variety of planned maintenance projects.
We are committed to providing our tenants with the best possible living environment. Following the Stock Condition Survey which was completed in January 2018, we are currently (July 2018) working on our plans for our planned maintenance in the next few years.
Will I be notified?
When carrying out maintenance work or repairs we will notify tenants in advance. If we plan to carry out any work to your home, you will receive letters from us beforehand, informing you of the planned work and when this will be undertaken.
The work we carry out
In addition to our day-to-day repair service, we make regular investments in a variety of large-scale maintenance projects, such as painterwork, electrical upgrades, window replacements, bathroom and kitchen replacements and boiler replacements.
We also carry out regular maintenance such as the repair of gutters and the painting of doors and exterior paintwork.
In 2016-17 we invested £422,000 to replace windows and doors and £205,000 to replace bathrooms. A total investment of well over half a million pounds.
The windows replacement programme generally ran very smoothly. Our contractors Sidey worked ahead of schedule and tenant satisfaction was high.
The new windows will help to keep Co-op homes warm, safe and secure.
The bathroom replacement contract has also been successfully completed. There were a few problems for example with chipped panels but the contractor replaced or repaired all of these. We hope everyone who has had a new bathroom is pleased with the result and takes care to look after it. These new bathrooms must now last for many years to come.
